Directors

Since June 2005, Patriot Renewable Fuels LLC has been operated by the following Board of Directors.  All our Directors are also owners of our company.

Co-Founder/President

Gene A. Griffith (Geneseo, Illinois)

Gene worked for John Deere Construction Equipment Co. (JDCEC) from 1967 to 2005, retiring in February of this year.  During his time with Deere, he held a variety of positions, including President of Sun-World Tractor (a group of company owned dealerships in Orlando, Tampa, and Ocala, Florida); President of Ark-Trac Machinery (a five-location dealership operation headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas); JCDEC’s finance manager with responsibility for dealer development in the US and Canada (during this time, Gene raised capital for, and started Nortrax, Inc., a dealer organization that now owns up to 40% of Deere’s construction equipment dealerships); and President of Hitachi Construction Machinery Corp. (a joint venture between Deere and Hitachi).

 

Co-Founder – Jeff Vande Voorde (Annawan, Illinois)

Jeff is the co-owner and President of Vande Voorde Sales Inc., a construction company that provides millwright services and specializes in grain handling equipment sales and service.  Jeff also operates a custom farming business and has farmed and provided custom farming services for more than 20 years.

 

Director – Lawrence Colo (Geneseo, Illinois)

Larry was the owner and President of L.A. Colo & Sons, Inc., a railroad track contractor headquartered in Geneseo, Illinois, until it was sold earlier this year.  Larry continues to be active with the company while it transitions to new management. Larry is also involved in transloading grain for the Iowa Interstate Railroad in Bureau, Illinois.

 

Director- Scott Rubins (Bettendorf, Iowa)

Scott is President & CEO of Geneseo Communications, Inc., a privately held telecommunications company located in northwestern Illinois.  Scott also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Telecommunications Association and is Chairman of the Illinois Independent Telecommunications Association.  Scott graduated from the University of Akron in 1986, is a CPA with and is a member of the American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

 

Director - Don King (Manlius, Illinois)

Don has owned Michlig Agricenter, Inc. a full service agricultural center offering fertilizer and chemicals, custom application, scouting and soil sampling, grain services, milling, trucking and petroleum product since 1996.  Don is also a member of the Board of Directors of D.J.W., Inc., United Suppliers, Inc. and the Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation. Don received his degree from Blackhawk College in Kewanee, Illinois.

 

Director - Gerard J. “Jerry” Rux (Kewanee, Illinois)

Jerry is the owner and operator of Rux Funeral Homes located in  Kewanee, Galva and Williamsfield, Illinois.  He is a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Kewanee Economic Development Corporation and a member of the Kewanee Ambassadors Club.  Jerry attended Loyola University in Chicago and graduated from Worsham College. 

 

Director - Tom Scheckel (Bellevue, Iowa)

Tom is the founder and owner of Scheckel Construction, Inc., one of the largest construction companies in Iowa.  Scheckel Construction performs earthmoving work, building roads, construction sites, golf course, and related projects. Tom also owns and manages The United Auction Center, Inc. a livestock auction center in Maquokate, Iowa.

 

Director – Robert H. Griffith (Libertyville, Illinois)

Rob is an attorney and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the courts of Illinois.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association.  He received his B.B.A. in Financing from the University of Iowa in 1993, and his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996. Rob currently is practicing in Chicago, Illinois.

 

Director – Bernard Francque (Geneseo, Illinois)

Bernard has been a grain and livestock farmer since 1962 and his present grain farm operation includes 1,400 acres of row crops.  He was co-owner of Geneseo Feed & Grain until it was sold in early 2005. Bernard serves on the Board of Directors of the Farmers Mutual Electric Cooperative, Abilities Plus (an organization to assist disabled adults), the Geneseo and St. Malachy School Boards
