Established in January 2005, Patriot Renewable Fuels LLC is organized in order to build and operate a world class ethanol plant strategic located in the heart of Illinois corn production.
History In August, 2004, the Henry County Economic Development Partnership (HCEDP) raised local funds raised and commissioned a study to determine if Henry County, IL could support an ethanol production plant. In January 2005, the HCEDP endorsed Patriot to go forward with project and Patriot Renewable Fuels LLC was formed. In May 2005 Patriot’s two co-founders, Gene Griffith and Jeff Vande Voorde, brought in additional seed capital and a formal Board of Directors was appointed. In June 2005- a letter of intent signed with Fagen, inc. the world’s premier builder of ethanol producing plants. In August 2005 options on property were purchased and on December 3, 2005, Patriot announced the development, construction and operations of a 100M gallon ethanol facility in Annawan, IL.
Our nine Member Board includes a balanced knowledge/expertise in specific fields such as: Farming, elevator management, grain procurement Construction (especially large projects) Railroads Material handling Project management Local politics and investors Strategic business development Legal and Financial In 2006, Patriot expects to be granted all necessary permits in order to begin construction. Fundraising is currently underway with ground breaking in 2006 and ethanol production by the end of 2007, ground breaking
